Are you still decompressing from Comic-Con - withdrawing from the joys of hitting up vendor booths, chatting your way around artist alleys, and snapping pics of your favorite cosplayers? Are you living in Northern California and looking for a more intimate convention experience with creators from your local area? Just want to have a good time in the heart of California’s San Joaquin Valley? Good news! There’s a new convention just for you: Stockton-Con!

Sunday, August 5, 2012 - 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Located at the Alex G. Spanos Center, University of the Pacific
3601 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA

Stockton-Con is a brand new convention located in Stockton, CA, the official home of the Fantastic Four! Stockton-Con has been created to highlight outstanding artists in the San Joaquin Valley and to bring a fun pop culture experience (including comics, gaming, toys, anime/manga, tv and movies) to the area. In addition, Stockton-Con will help the local community by donating 50% of each dollar raised by admission and vendor/exhibitor fees to St. Mary’s Dining Room and the United Way.

Stockton-Con's Guest of Honor: Morrie Turner

Some of the fun and excitement you can look forward to at Stockton-Con include:

- Guest booths and panels, including Stockton-Con’s Guest of Honor, the legendary syndicated cartoonist Morrie Turner, creator of Wee Pals and recipient of the 2012 Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award at this year’s Eisner Awards
- More than 80 featured exhibitors and artists
- A Live Auction featuring blank variant cover art
- Results of the Stockton-Con Art Contest focusing on Stockton’s own Fantastic Four
- Magic and Yu Gi Oh! tournaments
- A Guitar Hero area with nearly $1000 in prizes
- A kid’s drawing area, costuming groups, and more!

How to Get Tickets and More Information

If that’s not enough to get you to Stockton-Con, they are also offering entry at affordable prices, and prizes for the first 500 people in the door!

- Tickets are $6 (you can receive $2 off by bringing a donation of gently-used clothing)
- Kids 10 and under get in FREE
- First 500 people in the door get a gift bag with a pair of Stockton Thunder tickets, a pair of Pacific Athletics tickets, and at least four free comic books – over $30 value!

So come out and support the local Stockton community and St. Mary’s Dining Room! You can get more information and purchase tickets in advance at local area comic book stores, or online at the following locations:
